Reviewing Our Revisions (Tutorial)

Most of our customers use Microsoft Word to create their documents. So, we will use Microsoft Word here in this tutorial to illustrate how you can review changes that we propose for your document(s):

Once you open an edited document in Microsoft Word, you may see Microsoft Word's "Protected View" bar at the top of the document. Click the "Enable Editing" button so that you can see the proposed revisions for your document.

Next, you will see the proposed revisions in color. As you can see in the sample below, proposed insertions will be in green and underlined. Two words and a space were inserted into the second sentence in this example.

As you can see below, format changes will be in blue, underlined, and described in a blue bubble in the right margin of your document. In this example, the proposed format change was to remove the bold from the word, resveratrol.

Proposed deletions will be in red and underlined. In the sample below, two words, a space, and a semicolon are in red and underlined.

As you can see in the example below, grey lines on the left side of the document will indicate rows where proposed revisions exist.

You can accept or reject any of the proposed changes for the document.

To consider each of the proposed changes in sequence from the top to the bottom of the document, use the following steps:

(1) Click "Review" in the menu.

(2) On the right side, you will see the "Changes" subgroup.

(3) In the "Changes" subgroup, you will see the following buttons: Accept, Reject, Previous, and Next.

(4) After placing your cursor at the beginning of your document, click the "Next" button. This will take you to the first proposed revision for you to review in your document. This first proposed revision will become highlighted. If you want to accept the proposed revision, click the "Accept" button. However, if you do not want to accept the proposed revision, click the "Reject" button. Your choice will be implemented. You will then automatically be taken to the next proposed revision for you to review.

(5) Continue down the document, accepting or rejecting proposed revisions. Note that if you choose to accept a proposed revision in a grey "Comment" bubble, you may need to make the change manually.

Although above we described how to review each individual proposed revision in sequence, please know that you can accept or reject all of the proposed revisions at one time. To accept all of the proposed revisions at once, click on the bottom part of the "Accept" button and then choose the "Accept all changes in document" option. To reject all of the proposed revisions at once, click on the bottom part of the "Reject" button and then choose the "Reject all changes in document" option. Your choice will be implemented.

Remember to look in the right margin of your document for any remaining grey "Comment" bubbles whose proposed revisions may require you to make manual changes in the document.

Please note that we may provide you with a summary paragraph of proposed changes in addition to or instead of an edited document depending on the nature of the document and the types of changes that we need to propose.
